If someone had told me when I was 18 years old, that this very cold and sunny day in January, 2025, I would be taking Senior Portraits for a young lady graduating from the same small Charter School that I did in Downtown Redmond, Oregon.
MIND BLOWN.
We had SOOO much fun wandering quaint little downtown Redmond; talking about College options, how much she enjoyed theater, and how much things had changed since I graduated from Redmond Proficiency Academy over ten years ago. One of my favorite parts of shooting Senior Portraits is how truly unique they are; its like a cross between Portrait Photography and Documentary photography for me. Sure I have a list of prompts and poses to lead my client through but the heart of it is capturing their unique personality, here on the cusp of their launch into adult life. Each session is so incredibly unique; honoring each young lady or young lad’s personality whether they are bold and loud or sweet and soft.
This particular senior portrait session was the breath of fresh air I needed after a busy fall family photography season and our first holiday season with THREE KIDS. WHEW! August was so fun and relaxed, with such a neat style. She’s getting excited to start touring colleges; and debating with her Mama on how far away she’ll be going for this next adventure. I’m soooo excited that August chose my two location option so we’ll see her again for a floral themed shoot in the Spring, I can’t wait to see how her senior year is going!
