Hey Friend! Welcome to the brand new Juniper & Rust Photography Blog! I’m a Central Oregon Family Photographer striving to offer my clients the most laid back, fun photography experience. Here on the blog you’ll find all my best tips and tricks for clients preparing for photography sessions, stories from past sessions, and personal tidbits from my life. Starting with… the origin story of my business & what I do here!
What do I do?
Like I said, I’m a Central Oregon Family Photographer; I document emotive photos that authentically tell a family’s story for families located in Central Oregon. I provide Newborn Photography, Family Photography, and I’m lucky enough to capture the occasional proposal or gender reveal.
How do I do it?
I have a few concrete business pillars that I apply to every session to ensure the smoothest, easiest experience for my clients. First I make sure that my client communication from start to finish is quick & genuine, from that first inquiry to gallery deliver. I utilize as much automation as possible to ensure that my clients can complete their end from their phone, from invoicing and contracts, to gallery delivery. Then I customize my sessions for each and every family from poses to locations to schedules. Each and every family has a unique story and a special season that they are in. Maybe you have a shy three year old that doesn’t want to be put down, awesome! we’ll do lots of snuggly poses. Maybe you have an active five year old that wants to explore the new location, perfect! we’ll do lots of on the move poses. The entire experience is designed to result in a swoon worthy family photography session that takes you right back to that time in your life.
Origin Story
I started with family photography when my oldest child was born; I saw first hand how quickly that time with littles flies by and I wanted to capture every season I could. I also wanted high quality images that I could print and hang on the walls.. instead of leaving them in my computer indefinitely. As my extended family began to grown (I have ten nieces and nephews!) and my friends started families of their own, I fell in love documenting how each family interacted. How their six month old scrunches her nose when she smiles, or how their four year old turns each stick he finds into King Arthur’s sword. I wanted to bridge the gap between professional quality images and the authentic photos you snap in your every day life.
The meaning behind the name
Juniper and Rust has a multitude of meanings for me, I’m a wicked sentimental gal; so I knew I had to choose a name that would have a ton of heart behind it. Juniper represents my home where I was raised and returned to; the Central Oregon high desert. It also stands for Jamie, my childhood best friends name and now the middle name of my oldest daughter. Rust stands for the rainy valley I took off for when I turned 18, its the place where I became who I am. Rust also stands for Rose, my youngest daughters middle name.
