After the craze of busy season and the constant buzz of the holiday season; it was a breath of fresh air to slow down and join the Mitro Family to shoot their in home newborn photos to celebrate their newest little girl. After having three little girls myself I cannot get over watching those first sparks of best friendship develop between brand new sisters. I could see them in my mind in just a few years, knowing each other better than anyone else, giggling and teasing and just experiencing girlhood together.
Lauren had set up little sister’s space with the sweetest touches. The minimalist version of Winnie the Poo was the perfect combo of our own 90’s childhood paired with the more minimal style of 2025; it gave the room such a whimsical calm that I could have hung out in all day!
That being said, you DO NOT have to have a beautiful nursery set up in order to have wonderful in home newborn photos! The thing I love about Lifestyle Newborn Sessions is that they are a unique cross between a portrait session and documentary photography. They represent you! in the season you’re in!
The only newborn photos I had taken for me was for my third daughter, and by the third kid you better believe she didn’t have a room at all let alone a beautiful one! So we snapped some group shots on the couch and in our kitchen and a few rowdy ones piled up on our master bed. And it was the perfect representation of what life looks like in this third newborn session for us!
No matter how many kiddos you have or what the vibe of your space is; perfectly curated or too many kiddos for their own rooms (🙋🏻♀️) get the newborn photos Mama! this time can be such a long season that is remembered so briefly. Get those shots (and video clips coming soon! 🤫) of your sweet baby in that sweet baby scrunch phase.
