You’ve decided to schedule a family photography session, you’ve searched the web for the perfect Central Oregon Photographer for your family, you got on their schedule & chose a location, whew! That was a lot! but there’s one more step before you can head confidently into your family session.
Outfits! now before you go having a Grinch moment; cycling through everything in your closet & frantically adding items to your old navy cart, lets break the process down.
The first decision to make before you head out to shop for your session outfits is to choose a color scheme. Color plays a HUGE factor in the feel of your session. Color is so big it even has its own theory! That can be kind of intimidating! But, that’s where I come in. Let me take a little of the leg work out for you so you can go shop for your outfits confidently. Here are my three favorite color palettes to shoot as a Central Oregon Photographer.
1. Central Oregon Photographer Color Palette One: Rust & Sage
So I am a little biased; I love this color palette because its my brand color palette. But there’s good reason for that, too! This color palette goes so well with Central Oregon locations. The greens complement the sage and juniper back drops while the rust adds a bit of pop without being distracting.
2. Central Oregon Photographer Color Palette Two: Navy & Mustard
You’ll see a trend with all three of these color palettes; They all have some neutral colors as well as two contrasting colors. The reason for the contrasting colors is that they add dimension to your images. I love this color palette because that pop of mustard can really draw they eye. My suggestion with this color palette is to use that pop sparingly. I would suggest finding a dress for mom that is a mustard color and choosing more muted navy and neutrals for dad and kiddos.
3. Central Oregon Photographer Color Palette Three: Maroon & Mustard
Last but certainly not least is the maroon & mustard color palette. I love this palette specifically for summer and spring because it adds a pop of seasonal color but its still muted tones. It also adds some contrast in to the scenery of the Central Oregon high desert.
