Central Oregon is chock full of stunning locations to shoot any session. Within a sixty mile radius you can find mountains and pines, rivers and rock formations, golden deserts, and crystal lakes. That being said, it takes time and know how to discover locations that aren’t flooded with traffic or used in every session you see in your news feed. I have spent the last few years in my business aspiring to provide my clients with locations as unique as their families. Here are a few of my favorite lesser known Central Oregon Photography Locations.
Reynolds Pond, Bend Oregon
This is absolutely a hidden gem of a photography location; complete with low foot traffic, aspen trees, tall grasses, an adorable pond, and cute bits of sandy beach. I discovered this location with the help of a fellow Central Oregon photographer. I hired her for our own family photography session and was blown away by this location she selected. I try to keep all of my available locations within a 30 minute drive from Bend, Oregon.
Lake Billy Chinook Viewpoint, Madras Oregon
This one I have to give some of the credit to my brother in law. My sisters family has volunteered over the years to help me practice my craft. This last year they took me out to this spot for their family photography session. At first, I thought we were lost honestly. The path out to it is riddled with potholes and eventually turns to gravel. Then, we took a left on a little dirt path and opened up to a stunning view of jefferson and Lake Billy Chinook below. Absolutely worth the trip!
Tumalo Reservoir, Tumalo Oregon
This locations is very near and dear to my heart; it’s the first place my older sisters took me trail riding with our horses as kids. This location offers stunning three sisters mountain range views, towering pines, and an adorable pond. One extra plus that I love about this location is that the towering pines offer optimal lighting for most of the day.
Book a session this season and select one of these Central Oregon Photography Locations for your swoon worthy gallery.
